Mathieu, our cybersecurity specialist, talks to you about a common issue faced by SME managers: sharing sensitive data without clear rules. In this video, Mathieu gives you a few solution ideas to better manage confidential information and make your team part of the solution for your business.
Curious to see what we cover next? Pierre-Paul, our Head of Development, explains how well-structured communications improved collaboration within his team.
Mathieu sees it in most of the teams he meets. A confidential file sent by email instead of a SharePoint link. A client’s confidential information discussed in a Teams channel accessible to the entire department. Information copied into an external tool like ChatGPT to move faster. As Mathieu explains, it is not out of bad intent. It is often because your team is trying to be more efficient.
The problem is that no one has defined the rules. So everyone does what is simplest and fastest. And every new person who joins repeats the same habits because they see others doing the same. Information leaves the secure perimeter without anyone realizing it.
What makes the situation difficult to address is that no one ever told you it was also your responsibility. You were given tools, access to Microsoft 365, and you assumed the IT team was taking care of the rest. But between what the IT department puts in place and how your team shares information day to day, there is a gap that no one covers.
You do not have a clear picture of what leaves your Microsoft 365 environment
